A hollow cream crochet bell uses firm single crochet shaping, a flared rim with metallic-gold detail, and a gold crochet clapper. A dimensional red bow, holly leaves, and berries decorate the crown without hiding the bell silhouette.
This pattern has been mathematically reviewed, but the finished design has not yet been physically sample-tested. Check measurements and hardware before gifting or display.

Abbreviations and special stitch
US terms: ch = chain; sl st = slip stitch; sc = single crochet; hdc = half double crochet; dc = double crochet; tr = treble crochet; inc = increase; dec = decrease.
Invisible increase: work two sc into the same stitch while keeping both loops even.
Pattern instructions
Bell body
With cream, make a magic ring and work 6 sc. (6 sts) Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch. (12 sts) Round 3: repeat sc, increase. (18 sts) Round 4: repeat sc in 2, increase. (24 sts) Round 5: repeat sc in 3, increase. (30 sts) Round 6: repeat sc in 4, increase. (36 sts) Work 10 rounds even.
For the flare, repeat sc in 5 stitches, increase around to 42 stitches. Work one round even, then repeat sc in 6 stitches, increase around to 48 stitches. Work a final cream round and one metallic-gold slip-stitch round without tightening the rim.

Clapper and decorations
For the clapper, work 6 sc in a gold magic ring, increase to 12, work 3 rounds even, stuff lightly, and decrease closed. Leave a long cord and attach it inside the crown so the ball hangs just below the rim.
Crochet a red bow from a 42-chain strip worked in hdc for 5 rows. Form two loops and two tails, wrap the center firmly, and sew it to the crown. Add two green holly leaves and three small red berries.

Assembly and finishing
Thread the cream hanging loop through the crown and reinforce it across at least four body stitches. Shape the rim over a bowl and let it dry completely. Physical hanging and stiffener compatibility testing remain pending.

Blocking and care
Weave each end through several adjacent stitches. Block with rustproof pins, following the yarn label. Spot clean decorative hardware and reshape the crochet before air drying.

Frequently asked questions
Can I change the yarn?
Yes, but make a gauge swatch and keep all components in the same yarn weight. A heavier yarn changes the finished scale and hardware requirements.
Can I sell finished pieces?
