Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the 500g of bread flour, 350g of water, and 100g of sourdough starter. Stir until a shaggy dough forms, with no dry flour remaining.
- Incorporate Salt and Sugar: Add the 10g of salt and 1 tablespoon of sugar, if using. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- First Rise: Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl and cover it. Allow it to rise for 4-6 hours at room temperature.
- Shape the Loaf: Gently deflate the dough and turn it onto a floured surface. Shape it into a loaf by folding in the edges.
- Second Rise: Place the loaf in a greased loaf pan and let it rise for another 1-2 hours.
- Preheat Oven: About 20 minutes before baking, preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Bake the Bread: Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Cooling: Remove the loaf from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
