Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract (if using).
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Spread the dough evenly in the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the edges are light golden and the center is set.
- Allow the bars to cool completely before frosting and slicing into squares.
Notes
You can prepare the dough a day in advance and refrigerate it. Allow to come to room temperature before baking.
