- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk

- For Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons brown butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans to prevent sticking.
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy—about 3-5 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in buttermilk and vanilla extract until velvety smooth.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing gently with a spatula until just combined.
- Divide the batter between the two prepared pans and smooth the tops.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before glazing.
- Whisk together powdered sugar, brown butter, vanilla bean paste, and enough milk for desired glaze consistency. Drizzle over cooled cakes.
- Slice, serve, and enjoy!
