Description

Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or pepper jack)
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic; sauté for about 2-3 minutes until translucent.
  3. Brown the ground beef, seasoning it with salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning, cooking for about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a baking dish, covering the bottom evenly. Top with half of the beef mixture and a portion of cheese. Repeat the layers, finishing with cheese on top.
  5. Pour the beef broth evenly over the layered ingredients.
  6. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  8. Let it sit for about 5 minutes before serving.
