- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or pepper jack)
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic; sauté for about 2-3 minutes until translucent.
- Brown the ground beef, seasoning it with salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning, cooking for about 5-7 minutes.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a baking dish, covering the bottom evenly. Top with half of the beef mixture and a portion of cheese. Repeat the layers, finishing with cheese on top.
- Pour the beef broth evenly over the layered ingredients.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Let it sit for about 5 minutes before serving.
