- 1 head cauliflower (cut into florets)
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: Garlic powder or paprika
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Boil salted water in a large pot and cook the cauliflower florets until just tender, about 5-7 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the flour to create a roux, cooking for about 1 minute.
- Whisk in the milk gradually until thickened, around 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheese until melted. Season with salt, pepper, and any optional spices.
- Combine the cooked cauliflower with the cheese sauce in a baking dish.
- Sprinkle panko breadcrumbs evenly over the top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
- Cool for a minute before serving.
Notes
