Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your donut pan generously.
  2. Mix the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Combine the apple cider, melted butter, and eggs in another bowl.
  4. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  5. Fill each cavity of the donut pan about 2/3 full with the batter.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool slightly on a wire rack before glazing with warm caramel sauce.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, consider using a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend. Also, remember to allow ingredients to reach room temperature for a smoother batter.
