- 3 large Sweet Potatoes, peeled and sliced into 1/4 inch rounds
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 cup Water
- 1/2 tsp Salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel and slice the sweet potatoes into uniform rounds.
- In a large pot over medium heat, combine the unsalted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, water, and salt. Heat gently until the mixture thickens.
- Add the sliced sweet potatoes to the pot, stirring lightly to coat each round.
- Transfer the sweet potatoes into a baking dish, pouring any remaining syrup over the top.
- Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, uncover the dish and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes.
- Serve warm.

Feel free to experiment with spices like nutmeg or add pecans for texture.
