Create a fun and educational tornado in a bottle using simple materials to demonstrate the science behind tornadoes and vortexes.
Instructions
- Fill one of the plastic bottles with water, leaving some space at the top.
- Add dish soap and optional glitter or food coloring to the water.
- Take the second bottle and place it upside down on top of the first bottle.
- Seal the two bottles together using tape if necessary to prevent leaks.
- Quickly swirl the top bottle in a circular motion to create a vortex.
- Observe the tornado effect as the water spirals down into the bottom bottle.
