Create a fun and educational tornado in a bottle using simple materials to demonstrate the science behind tornadoes and vortexes.

Instructions

  1. Fill one of the plastic bottles with water, leaving some space at the top.
  2. Add dish soap and optional glitter or food coloring to the water.
  3. Take the second bottle and place it upside down on top of the first bottle.
  4. Seal the two bottles together using tape if necessary to prevent leaks.
  5. Quickly swirl the top bottle in a circular motion to create a vortex.
  6. Observe the tornado effect as the water spirals down into the bottom bottle.
