These Thanksgiving Turkey Cranberry Meatballs are a delightful blend of savory and sweet, featuring a tender texture that melts in your mouth. The juicy turkey is complemented by the tartness of cranberries, creating a festive flavor experience that captures the essence of the holiday season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Meatballs:
    • 1 pound ground turkey
    • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
    • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
    • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
    • 1 large egg
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Cranberry Sauce:
    • 1 cup cranberry sauce (canned or homemade)
    • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
    • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, onion, parsley, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).
  5. While the meatballs are baking, prepare the cranberry sauce by mixing cranberry sauce, Dijon mustard, and brown sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until heated through.
  6. Once the meatballs are done, remove them from the oven and toss them in the cranberry sauce until well coated.
  7. Serve warm, garnished with additional parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Make-ahead: You can prepare the meatballs a day in advance and store them in the refrigerator before baking.
  • Storage: Leftover meatballs can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Substitutions: Ground chicken or beef can be used instead of turkey, and gluten-free breadcrumbs can be used for a gluten-free option.
