Thai Sweet Chili Chicken is a delightful dish that combines crispy, golden-brown chicken with a luscious, sweet, and tangy sauce. Each bite offers a satisfying crunch followed by a burst of flavor that dances on the palate, leaving a lingering sweetness balanced by a hint of heat.

Ingredients

  • Chicken: 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Marinade: 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon fish sauce, 1 tablespoon lime juice, 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Breading: 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup cornstarch, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon salt
  • Sweet Chili Sauce: 1/2 cup Thai sweet chili sauce, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Garnish: Chopped green onions, sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the chicken pieces with soy sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, and garlic powder. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  4. Coat each marinated chicken piece in the breading mixture, shaking off excess.
  5. Fry the chicken in batches for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  6. In a saucepan, combine sweet chili sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Heat over low until warmed through.
  7. Toss the fried chicken in the sweet chili sauce until evenly coated.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
