A delightful twist on a classic meatloaf, packed with gooey mozzarella and topped with marinara sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, garlic, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  3. Shape the meat mixture into a loaf on a greased baking sheet.
  4. Create a well in the center of the loaf for the mozzarella.
  5. Fill the well with the shredded mozzarella cheese.
  6. Fold the sides of the meat over the cheese to encase it.
  7. Top the loaf with marinara sauce and more mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake for 60-70 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  9. Rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Allow the meatloaf to rest after baking for better slicing. Customize with additional vegetables if desired.
