Description

This Strawberry–Honey Jalapeño Jam offers a delightful balance of sweetness and heat, with a luscious, smooth texture that spreads easily on toast. The vibrant red color and aromatic notes of fresh strawberries combined with the subtle kick of jalapeños create a unique flavor experience that tantalizes the taste buds.


Ingredients

  • Strawberries: 2 cups, hulled and chopped
  • Honey: 1 cup
  • Jalapeños: 2, finely chopped (seeds removed for less heat)
  • Fresh Lemon Juice: 1/4 cup
  • Granulated Sugar: 1/2 cup
  • Pectin: 1 package (1.75 oz)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the chopped strawberries, honey, jalapeños, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until the mixture begins to bubble, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the granulated sugar and pectin, stirring constantly until fully dissolved, about 2 minutes.
  3. Increase the heat to high and bring the mixture to a rolling boil. Boil for 1 minute, stirring frequently.
  4. Remove from heat and skim off any foam that forms on the surface.
  5. Pour the jam into sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace. Seal with lids.
  6. Process the jars in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes to ensure preservation.

Notes

  • This jam can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
  • For longer storage, process in a water bath as instructed.
  • Substitute agave syrup for honey for a vegan option.
