- 2 ripe pears, peeled and diced
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, whole wheat flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the diced pears, applesauce, and honey or maple syrup to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
- If using, fold in the chopped nuts.
- Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
- These bars can be frozen for up to 3 months.
