Ingredients

- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a saucepan, combine water and butter; bring to a boil.
- Add flour and salt, stirring until the mixture forms a ball.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- For the custard, whisk together milk, sugar, cornstarch, and extracts in a saucepan over medium heat until thickened.
- Let the custard cool, then fill the cream puffs with it.
Notes
- Ensure the cream puffs are completely cooled before filling.
- Store filled cream puffs in the refrigerator.
- Can be dusted with powdered sugar before serving.
