- 1 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 3 large egg whites
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- Food coloring (various pastel colors)
- Edible glitter for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, sift together almond flour and powdered sugar.
- In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until foamy, then add cream of tartar and gradually add granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the almond flour mixture into the egg whites until well combined.
- Divide the batter into separate bowls and add food coloring to each, mixing until the desired pastel shades are achieved.
- Transfer the batter to piping bags and pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Let the macarons sit at room temperature for 30-60 minutes until a skin forms on the surface.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, then let cool completely before removing from the parchment.
- Once cooled, sandwich two macarons together with your choice of filling and sprinkle with edible glitter.
