Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, sift together almond flour and powdered sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until foamy, then add cream of tartar and gradually add granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the almond flour mixture into the egg whites until well combined.
  5. Divide the batter into separate bowls and add food coloring to each, mixing until the desired pastel shades are achieved.
  6. Transfer the batter to piping bags and pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheets.
  7. Let the macarons sit at room temperature for 30-60 minutes until a skin forms on the surface.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, then let cool completely before removing from the parchment.
  9. Once cooled, sandwich two macarons together with your choice of filling and sprinkle with edible glitter.
