Indulge in the rich, savory flavors of Southern Glazed Beef, where each bite reveals a tender, juicy texture that melts in your mouth. The sweet and tangy glaze, infused with hints of garlic and spices, creates a delightful contrast that elevates this dish to a Thanksgiving centerpiece.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Beef: 3 lbs of beef brisket, trimmed
  • Glaze:
    • 1 cup brown sugar
    • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
    • 1/4 cup soy sauce
    • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
    • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetables:
    • 2 large onions, sliced
    • 3 carrots, chopped
    • 2 stalks celery, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, smoked paprika, and black pepper to create the glaze.
  3. In a large roasting pan, place the sliced onions, carrots, and celery as a bed for the beef.
  4. Place the trimmed brisket on top of the vegetables and pour the glaze over the meat, ensuring it is well coated.
  5. Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil and roast in the preheated oven for 3 hours.
  6. After 3 hours, remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C). Roast for an additional 30 minutes, basting the meat with the glaze every 10 minutes.
  7. Once the beef is tender and caramelized, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
