Ingredients

- 3 cups bread flour
- 1 cup water (room temperature)
- 1 cup sourdough starter (active and bubbly)
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Mix the bread flour and salt in a large bowl.
- Add the bubbly sourdough starter and room temperature water. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for approximately 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough into a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 4 to 8 hours at room temperature, or until doubled in size.
- Deflate the risen dough and shape it into a loaf before placing it in a greased loaf pan.
- Cover the loaf and let it rise again for 1 to 2 hours until puffed.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Bake the pan for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool the loaf on a wire rack for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Use a sharp knife to score the top of the loaf before baking for better expansion. Store the loaf wrapped at room temperature for 2-3 days or freeze for longer storage.
