Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Dough:
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 3/4 cup warm water (110°F)
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • For the Toppings:
    • 1 cup ricotta cheese
    • 1 cup cooked Italian sausage, crumbled
    • 1/4 cup honey
    • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
    • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
    • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, and salt. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness, then transfer to parchment paper.
  6. Spread ricotta cheese evenly over the dough, followed by crumbled sausage and mozzarella cheese.
  7. Sprinkle red pepper flakes over the top for added heat.
  8. Carefully transfer the pizza (with parchment) onto the preheated stone or baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and drizzle honey over the hot pizza. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before slicing.
