- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- Chocolate shavings for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a double boiler, stirring until smooth.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Stir in the melted chocolate mixture until smooth.
- Fold in the flour and salt until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Let the cake cool completely before removing it from the pan.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- Gently fold in the salted caramel sauce and cocoa powder into the whipped cream.
- Once the cake is cooled, spread the mousse over the top and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings before serving.

- For a richer flavor, use high-quality dark chocolate.
- Make sure the cake is completely cooled before adding the mousse layer.
