Description

Pickle Fries with Spicy Aioli are a delicious and crunchy snack that combines the tanginess of pickles with a spicy dipping sauce.

Ingredients

  • Pickles – 4 large
  • All-purpose flour – 1 cup
  • Cornmeal – 1/2 cup
  • Eggs – 2, beaten
  • Breadcrumbs – 1 cup
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Paprika – 1 tsp
  • Garlic powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Vegetable oil – for frying

Instructions

  1. Slice the pickles into fry-shaped pieces.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, paprika, and garlic powder.
  3. Dip each pickle fry into the flour mixture, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Fry the pickle fries until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  6. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. For the spicy aioli, mix mayonnaise, hot sauce, and a pinch of salt in a bowl.
  8. Serve the pickle fries hot with the spicy aioli on the side.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free flour and breadcrumbs.
  • Adjust the spiciness of the aioli by adding more or less hot sauce.
  • These can be baked instead of fried for a healthier version.
