Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, milk, egg, and melted butter.
- Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Preheat the waffle iron and lightly grease it.
- Pour the batter into the waffle iron and cook according to the manufacturer’s instructions until golden brown.
- In a small saucepan, heat the maple syrup until warm.
- Serve the waffles topped with warm maple syrup and sprinkle with toasted nuts.
