Ingredients
Scale
- For the Chicken:
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- For the Bacon:
- 6 slices of bacon
- For the Sliders:
- 12 slider buns
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- Fresh arugula or spinach for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan to medium-high heat (about 375°F).
- In a bowl, mix the maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- While the chicken is marinating, cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Grill the marinated chicken thighs for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F and have nice grill marks.
- During the last minute of grilling, place the slider buns on the grill to toast lightly.
- Assemble the sliders by spreading mayonnaise and Dijon mustard on the bottom half of each bun, adding a piece of grilled chicken, a slice of bacon, a sprinkle of cheddar cheese, and a handful of arugula.
- Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
Notes
- Make-ahead: You can marinate the chicken up to 24 hours in advance for deeper flavor.
- Storage: Store leftover sliders in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Substitutions: Use turkey bacon for a leaner option or swap chicken thighs for chicken breasts for a different texture.
