Description

Delicious homemade Pop-Tarts filled with your choice of jam and topped with a colorful glaze.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 cup fruit jam (your choice)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Food coloring (various colors)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add the cubed butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in cold water until the dough comes together.
  4. Divide the dough into two discs, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Roll out one disc of dough on a floured surface and cut into rectangles.
  7. Place a spoonful of jam on half of the rectangles, leaving space around the edges.
  8. Top with remaining rectangles and seal the edges with a fork.
  9. Transfer to a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let cool completely before glazing.
  11. In a bowl, mix powdered sugar and milk, then divide into separate bowls and add food coloring.
  12. Drizzle the colorful glaze over the cooled Pop-Tarts and let set before serving.

Notes

  • Feel free to experiment with different jam flavors.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container.
  • For a fun twist, add sprinkles on top of the glaze.
