Ingredients

- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (optional for sweetness)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (sugar-free if desired)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix melted coconut oil, applesauce, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
- Fold in the dark chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are firm.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
- Feel free to add nuts or dried fruits for extra texture and flavor.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey/maple syrup as desired.
