Description

This Ground Beef Cheesesteak is a mouthwatering delight, featuring tender, juicy beef sautéed to perfection and enveloped in gooey, melted cheese. The crispy, toasted hoagie rolls add a satisfying crunch, making each bite a symphony of textures and flavors that will leave you craving more.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Cheesesteak:
    • 1 lb ground beef
    • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
    • 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 8 oz provolone cheese, sliced
    • 4 hoagie rolls

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, cooking until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned, about 8-10 minutes.
  5. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper, mixing well.
  6. Reduce heat to low and layer the provolone cheese over the beef mixture, covering until melted, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. While the cheese melts, toast the hoagie rolls in a separate oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes until golden.
  8. Once the cheese is melted, spoon the beef mixture into the toasted hoagie rolls and serve immediately.

Notes

  • This dish can be made ahead of time; simply prepare the beef mixture and store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • To reheat, warm the mixture in a skillet over medium heat until heated through, then assemble in toasted rolls.
  • For a healthier option, substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef.
  • Feel free to add other toppings like jalapeños or mushrooms for extra flavor.
