- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk for glaze
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for glaze
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Combine the milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla in another bowl.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently.
- Mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish, and sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the top.
- Pour the remaining batter into the dish and top with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Swirl the cinnamon-sugar into the batter with a knife.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix the powdered sugar with milk and vanilla for the glaze, then drizzle it over the cooled cake.
Notes
You can prepare the batter the night before and refrigerate it. For a dairy-free option, substitute milk with almond or oat milk.
