Description

A delicious and elevated take on the classic grilled cheese sandwich, perfect for lunch or a quick snack.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of artisan bread
  • 2 slices of aged cheddar cheese
  • 2 slices of Gruyère cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard
  • Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Spread Dijon mustard on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Layer the cheddar and Gruyère cheese between the unbuttered sides of the bread.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter.
  4. Place the sandwich in the skillet, buttered side down.
  5. Cook for 3-4 minutes until golden brown, then flip and add the remaining butter.
  6. Cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.
  7. Remove from skillet, slice, and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños inside the sandwich.
