These German Chocolate Brownie Cookies are a decadent treat, featuring a rich, fudgy texture that melts in your mouth. Each bite is a harmonious blend of chocolate and coconut, with a hint of pecan crunch that elevates the flavor experience to new heights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Cookies:
    • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
    • 2 cups granulated sugar
    • 4 large eggs
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • For the Topping:
    • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
    • 1 cup chopped pecans
    • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the melted butter and sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  8. While the cookies are baking, prepare the topping by mixing the coconut, pecans, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl.
  9. Remove the cookies from the oven and immediately spoon a small amount of the topping onto each cookie.
  10. Return the cookies to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, until the topping is golden brown.
  11. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
