Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix water with blue food coloring until you achieve your desired shade of blue.
  2. Add salt to the mixture, stirring until it dissolves completely.
  3. Pour the blue saltwater solution into the clear ornaments, filling them about halfway.
  4. Place the ornaments on a baking tray and put them in the freezer for several hours or until the water freezes solid.
  5. Once frozen, remove the ornaments from the freezer and let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes to slightly thaw.
  6. Carefully remove the ice from the ornaments, leaving behind the beautiful blue crystal snowflakes.
  7. Attach a string or fishing line to the top of each snowflake for hanging.
