- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a double boiler, melt the dark chocolate and butter together until smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in the sugar until well combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cake is set but still slightly soft in the center.
- Let the cake cool completely in the pan before removing.
- Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form and spread it over the cooled cake.
- Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
