- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat; drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the marinara sauce, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning; simmer for about 5 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, and Parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy.
- In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce, followed by noodles, ricotta mixture, and a sprinkle of mozzarella.
- Repeat layering until all ingredients are used, finishing with mozzarella on top.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes; then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
- Let it cool for about 10 minutes before slicing and garnish with fresh basil.
Notes
Consider prepping the ingredients a day before to cut down on cooking time. You can use an air fryer for a crispy top.
