Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat; drain any excess fat.
  4. Stir in the marinara sauce, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning; simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, and Parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy.
  6. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce, followed by noodles, ricotta mixture, and a sprinkle of mozzarella.
  7. Repeat layering until all ingredients are used, finishing with mozzarella on top.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes; then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  9. Let it cool for about 10 minutes before slicing and garnish with fresh basil.

Notes

Consider prepping the ingredients a day before to cut down on cooking time. You can use an air fryer for a crispy top.
