Description

A rich and decadent dessert combining dark chocolate and orange flavors in a light mousse cake.


Ingredients

  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 100g unsalted butter
  • 3 large eggs
  • 100g sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 orange (zest and juice)
  • 200ml heavy cream
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract until pale and fluffy.
  4. Stir in the melted chocolate mixture and orange zest and juice.
  5. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  6. Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture.
  7. Pour the mixture into a prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until set but still slightly wobbly in the center.
  9. Let cool before refrigerating for at least 4 hours.
  10. Serve chilled, garnished with orange slices or chocolate shavings.
