Ingredients
- Flour: 500g all-purpose flour
- Water: 350ml lukewarm water
- Yeast: 7g active dry yeast
- Salt: 10g sea salt
- Sugar: 5g granulated sugar
- Olive Oil: 15ml for greasing
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the lukewarm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Add the flour and salt to the yeast mixture, stirring until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F) and place a baking stone or tray inside to heat up.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 6 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a mini baguette.
- Place the shaped baguettes on a floured baking sheet, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Using a sharp knife, make a few diagonal slashes on top of each baguette before placing them in the oven.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crusty. The internal temperature should reach 90°C (194°F).
- Let cool on a wire rack before serving.
