Description

Creamy Lemon Salmon Piccata is a delightful dish that combines the rich, buttery texture of salmon with a zesty lemon sauce, creating a perfect balance of flavors. The dish is finished with capers that add a briny pop, making each bite a burst of freshness and indulgence.

Ingredients

  • Salmon: 4 fillets (6 oz each), skinless
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon, for seasoning
  • Pepper: 1/2 teaspoon, for seasoning
  • Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons, for frying
  • Butter: 2 tablespoons, unsalted
  • Garlic: 3 cloves, minced
  • Lemon Juice: 1/4 cup, freshly squeezed
  • Chicken Broth: 1/2 cup, low-sodium
  • Heavy Cream: 1/2 cup
  • Capers: 2 tablespoons, rinsed and drained
  • Parsley: 2 tablespoons, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon fillets and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the lemon juice and chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet to deglaze. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and capers, and let the sauce simmer for another 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Return the salmon to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the fillets. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

  • This dish can be made ahead of time; simply reheat gently in a skillet over low heat.
