- 4 slices of thick-cut bread (brioche or Texas toast)
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- Additional cinnamon and sugar for coating
Instructions
- Whisk together 2 eggs, 1/2 cup of milk, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon until the mixture is smooth.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt 1/4 cup of butter until it sizzles.
- Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, soaking for about 5 seconds on each side.
- Cook the soaked bread in the skillet until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Combine 1/4 cup of sugar with an extra teaspoon of cinnamon in a separate bowl and roll each cooked slice in this mixture.
- Serve immediately, drizzling with maple syrup or adding whipped cream as desired.
Notes
You can prepare some components ahead of time, like whisking the egg mixture the night before. For a healthier option, this can also be baked or made in an air fryer.
