Ingredients
Scale
- For the Cake:
- 1 box of white cake mix (15.25 oz)
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- For the Jello Layer:
- 1 box of raspberry jello (3 oz)
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup cold water
- For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes until well blended.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, prepare the jello by dissolving the raspberry jello in 1 cup of boiling water, then stir in 1 cup of cold water. Set aside to cool.
- Once the cake is done, allow it to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
- Once cooled, poke holes all over the top of the cake using a fork or skewer.
- Pour the prepared jello evenly over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
- For the frosting, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until fluffy.
- Spread the cream cheese frosting over the jello layer once it has set. Decorate with festive sprinkles if desired.
- Slice and serve chilled. Enjoy your festive treat!
