Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and butter.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Once boiling, let it cook for 5 minutes without stirring.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
  5. If using, fold in chopped nuts.
  6. Pour the fudge into a greased 8×8 inch pan and spread evenly.
  7. Let it cool at room temperature until set, then cut into squares.
