Description

These Chocolate Peanut Butter Valentine’s Hearts are a decadent treat that combines the rich, velvety texture of dark chocolate with the creamy, nutty flavor of peanut butter. Each bite melts in your mouth, offering a perfect balance of sweetness and a hint of saltiness that makes them utterly irresistible.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Chocolate Coating:
    • 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • For the Peanut Butter Filling:
    • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
    • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
    • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth and fully melted.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the peanut butter, powdered sugar, softened butter, and vanilla extract until creamy and well combined.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out heart shapes from the melted chocolate, placing them on the parchment.
  4. Using a spoon, add a dollop of the peanut butter mixture on top of each chocolate heart.
  5. Cover the peanut butter filling with more melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully enclosed.
  6. Refrigerate the hearts for at least 30 minutes or until the chocolate is set.
  7. Once set, remove from the refrigerator and gently peel off the parchment paper.
  8. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • These hearts can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • For a vegan option, substitute the butter with coconut oil and use dairy-free chocolate.
  • Feel free to add a pinch of sea salt on top before the chocolate sets for an extra flavor boost.
