Description

A rich and decadent chocolate mousse tart topped with a glossy ganache glaze, perfect for chocolate lovers.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (for ganache)
  • 4 oz dark chocolate (for ganache)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix chocolate cookie crumbs with melted butter until combined.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a tart pan.
  4. Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then let it cool.
  5. In a saucepan, heat 1 cup of heavy cream until just simmering.
  6. Remove from heat and add chopped dark chocolate, stirring until smooth.
  7. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy.
  8. Gradually add the chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, stirring constantly.
  9. Stir in vanilla extract.
  10. Pour the mousse into the cooled tart crust and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  11. For the ganache, heat 1/2 cup of heavy cream until simmering, then pour over 4 oz of dark chocolate, stirring until smooth.
  12. Let the ganache cool slightly before pouring it over the chilled mousse tart.
  13. Chill again until set, then slice and serve.
