Description
A rich and decadent dessert that combines layers of chocolate cake, creamy caramel mousse, and a luscious chocolate ganache.

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add softened butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Let the cake cool completely before removing it from the pan.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- Gently fold in the caramel sauce into the whipped cream.
- Once the cake is cooled, slice it in half horizontally.
- Spread a layer of caramel mousse on the bottom half of the cake, then place the top half back on.
- In a saucepan, melt the chocolate chips over low heat to make the ganache.
- Pour the chocolate ganache over the top of the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides.
- Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet.
- Make sure the cake is completely cool before adding the mousse and ganache.
- This cake can be made a day in advance for better flavor.
