Description

A rich and decadent dessert that combines layers of chocolate cake, creamy caramel mousse, and a luscious chocolate ganache.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add softened butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  5. Let the cake cool completely before removing it from the pan.
  6. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  7. Gently fold in the caramel sauce into the whipped cream.
  8. Once the cake is cooled, slice it in half horizontally.
  9. Spread a layer of caramel mousse on the bottom half of the cake, then place the top half back on.
  10. In a saucepan, melt the chocolate chips over low heat to make the ganache.
  11. Pour the chocolate ganache over the top of the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides.
  12. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet.
  • Make sure the cake is completely cool before adding the mousse and ganache.
  • This cake can be made a day in advance for better flavor.
