Ingredients

- 1 pound tenderized steak (cube steak)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for gravy)
- 2 cups milk (for gravy)
- Salt and pepper to taste (for gravy)
Instructions
- Season the steak with salt and pepper.
- Prepare your dredging stations with flour, and whisk together eggs and milk.
- Dredge the steak in flour, then in the egg-milk mixture, and back into the flour.
- Heat oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium heat.
- Fry the steak for 3 to 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Make the gravy by melting butter and whisking in flour, then adding milk until thickened.
- Serve the fried steak topped with creamy gravy and garnish with parsley.
Notes
Prepare breaded steaks in advance and fry just before serving for the best texture. For a lighter version, consider using an air fryer.
