- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish, then line it with parchment paper.
- Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until combined.
- Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Mix the sugar and cinnamon together, then sprinkle evenly over the top of the dough.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, substitute coconut oil for butter. You can also add chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruit for extra flavor.
