Description

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish, then line it with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until combined.
  6. Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  7. Mix the sugar and cinnamon together, then sprinkle evenly over the top of the dough.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, substitute coconut oil for butter. You can also add chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruit for extra flavor.
