- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- For the Lasagna Filling:
- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley. Spread this mixture evenly on the cut sides of the French bread.
- Place the garlic bread on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or sausage until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet, cooking until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, and half of the Parmesan cheese.
- Layer the meat sauce and cheese mixture in the skillet, starting with the meat sauce, followed by the cheese mixture. Repeat until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of meat sauce.
- Top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
