    • 1 loaf of French bread, sliced in half lengthwise

    • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • For the Lasagna Filling:
    • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
    • 1 small onion, diced
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
    • 2 cups ricotta cheese
    • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
    • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
    • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley. Spread this mixture evenly on the cut sides of the French bread.
  3. Place the garlic bread on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  4. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or sausage until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  5. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet, cooking until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  7. In a separate bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, and half of the Parmesan cheese.
  8. Layer the meat sauce and cheese mixture in the skillet, starting with the meat sauce, followed by the cheese mixture. Repeat until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of meat sauce.
  9. Top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  10. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
