Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 cup of grated cheese
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • Butter for spreading

Instructions

  1. Preheat a sandwich press or skillet over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, on the press or skillet.
  4. Add a layer of grated cheese on top of the bread.
  5. Layer the tomato slices over the cheese.
  6. Add another layer of cheese on top of the tomatoes.
  7. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
  8. Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-5 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat, slice, and serve warm.
