Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Bread:
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 1 cup milk
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 tablespoon baking powder
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • For the Apple Filling:
    • 2 cups peeled and diced apples (about 2 medium apples)
    • 1/4 cup brown sugar
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • For the Caramel Sauce:
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
    • 1/2 cup heavy cream
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. In another bowl, toss the diced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice until well coated.
  6. Fold the apple mixture into the batter gently, ensuring even distribution.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, then drizzle half of the caramel sauce over it. Add the remaining batter and top with the rest of the caramel sauce.
  8. Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. The top should be golden brown.
  9. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
