- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup diced apples
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract to the yeast mixture and mix well.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread caramel sauce over it.
- Sprinkle diced apples and brown sugar on top, then roll the dough tightly.
- Slice the roll into 12 pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Drizzle with additional caramel sauce before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use brown butter instead of regular melted butter.
- Feel free to add nuts for extra crunch.
- These rolls are best served warm.
