Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Casserole:
    • 2 pounds ground beef
    • 1 medium onion, diced
    • 1 cup pickles, chopped
    • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
    • 1 cup American cheese, shredded
    • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
    • 1 tablespoon onion powder
    • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the Tater Tot Layer:
    • 32 ounces frozen tater tots
  • For the Special Sauce:
    • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
    • 1/4 cup ketchup
    • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
    • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
    • 1 tablespoon sugar
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent, about 8-10 minutes.
  3. Drain excess fat and stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, vinegar, sugar, garlic powder, and onion powder to create the special sauce.
  5. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer the cooked beef mixture evenly on the bottom.
  6. Spread the chopped pickles over the beef, followed by the shredded cheddar and American cheese.
  7. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.
  8. Drizzle the special sauce over the tater tots.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  10. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
