Description

Ingredients

  • Beef: 1 pound of sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • Mushrooms: 8 ounces of cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • Onion: 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
  • Beef Broth: 2 cups
  • Sour Cream: 1 cup
  • Flour: 2 tablespoons for thickening
  • Butter: 2 tablespoons for sautéing
  • Olive Oil: 1 tablespoon for cooking
  • Salt: to taste
  • Pepper: to taste
  • Parsley: 2 tablespoons, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced beef and sear for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing for 2-3 minutes until translucent.
  4. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for an additional 5 minutes until they are golden brown.
  5. Sprinkle the flour over the mushroom mixture and stir for 1 minute to cook the flour.
  6. Gradually pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
  7. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the sour cream until well combined.
  8. Add the beef back to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and heat through for 2-3 minutes.
