- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey/chicken)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (Italian-style preferred)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley (or basil/oregano)
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
- Form the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter.
- Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 20 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- Pour marinara sauce into a large baking dish.
- Carefully place the baked meatballs into the sauce.
- Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Return to the oven for another 10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot over spaghetti or as desired.
Notes
Optional: Add spices like red pepper flakes for heat or mix in feta for a Mediterranean twist.
